Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a friendly, energetic and self-motivated individual to work in the Haulage industry. This role would suit a business minded individual who has excellent attention to detail and computer literate in various packages including MS office.
As Transport Manager you will be responsible for the following day to day duties, personnel, fleet and monitoring the progress of the works schedule from tender to completion. A willingness to get involved with admin, invoicing, health & safety, HR, adhoc.
- Responsible for routine vehicle checks, ensuring adherence to both company and statutory requirements, while creating & maintaining all records.
- Responsible for ensuring all fleet inspections and certifications are carried out in a timely manner, relevant qualifications applicable to Transportation Management, including a National CPC.
- You will require knowledge and understanding of all areas of the supply chain, budgets and financial controls, legislation and relevant fleet controls.
- You must be able to efficiently work within a transport operation environment, with strong communication and people management skills, and have the ability to cultivate strong business relationships on multiple levels.
- Must also be safety conscious with a full knowledge of transport operations and maintenance and be detail conscious with regards to the vehicles themselves and route planning.
- Actively identifying training needs, providing on the job training, guidance and coaching to all members of the team.
- Promoting good housekeeping within the depot to provide a safe, professional environment, promoting positive & responsible attitudes towards health & safety.
- Ensuring active compliance with company policies and actively safeguarding company goods and property from theft or damage.
- Willingness to perform any other duties as may be deemed necessary or as may be required by the company.
The ideal candidate will have the following: –
· Transport Management experience & qualifications a must.
· Attention to detail.
· Excellent organisational skills.
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
· Strong time management and the ability to prioritise.
· Willingness to learn all aspects of the company.
· Work well under pressure.
· Be a good team player.
· Good knowledge of transport/haulage industry – necessary.
· Knowledge of Xero accounting – desirable.
· Good Knowledge of MS Excel {advanced}, Word, PowerPoint – necessary.
